Cargo Mariners was formed in 2021 when the experience and resources of the founding partners were combined to provide an unrivalled chartering and shipping business. Serving the shortsea and coastal market predominantly in northern Europe.

The operations are supported by a dedicated team based in our Faversham office, from where our fleet of vessels are managed. Our team is on hand to make sure your cargo reaches its ports safely and efficiently and provide you with constant updates and personal service to suit your needs. Our company also provides commercial management for ship owners ensuring the maximum return in volatile markets.

Utilising owned, chartered, and managed vessels; Cargo Mariners dominate the specialised shortsea market in the UK. Providing vessels for general cargo, grains, aggregate, steel and special project cargoes and IMO cargos.

The chartering department also undertake competitive chartering on behalf of cargo principals identifying and fixing vessels on the open market to ensure the best rates and service for the principal.

Vessel Owners

Cargo Mariners have taken a direct interest in several of the ships we operate to ensure the ongoing availability of smaller vessels that form an important part of our operation. These vessels are managed by our technical managers K & E Shipping to ensure that they perform safely and to the high standard that our principles rightly demand.

Commercial Management

Cargo Mariners offers full bespoke commercial management service to ship owners ensuring maximum returns in a volatile market, managing bunkers, accounting for disbursements, and providing a full analysis of vessels performance.

Cargo Mariners provides service to cargo principles identifying and fixing the most competitive and appropriate vessels for the principle’s cargo. Using our vast number of contacts and intimate knowledge of vessel types we can ensure your cargo is moved in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.

Project Cargoes

The team at Cargo Mariners have specialised in project cargoes for many years and have developed a strong network of contacts providing specialised services such as lashing, securing, lifting and onward road transport. Some of the vessels within the fleet are ideally suited for heavy and complex cargos. Holds designed for heavy cargo, combined with low draft, air-draft together with high manoeuvrability allows for cargo to be loaded and discharged in very restricted locations often nearer to the destination even if that location is not close to an established large port facilities.

IMO Cargo

Cargo Mariners have considerable experience with the transportation of IMO cargoes with the vast majority of our vessels already certified to carry IMO class one cargoes.

Vessels

Many of the ships operated by Cargo Mariners are below 2000t and ideally suited for inland waterways and less accessible ports. This specific niche market for smaller vessels is an area that Cargo Mariners has extensive experience of. The direct fleet also includes several larger vessels, and this mix of vessels provides the flexibility to support various principles with different cargo requirements.
